About the Website
Q: What is the TY News project all about?
A: TY News is a Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) project created as part of its Transition Year programme. TY News is run by TU Dublin’s Access and Outreach Office and gives Transition Year students from local schools the chance to explore journalism, media, and storytelling. Students create and manage their own school news websites, where they share stories and opinions, conduct interviews, and write/video/podcast updates and bulletins about school life and beyond.
Q: Who writes the articles?
A: All content is written by TY students in their respective schools! The TY News teams include writers, editors, photographers, and designers.
Q: Can everyone in the TY class contribute?
A: Absolutely! All kinds of contributions are welcome—photos, videos, podcasts, artwork, interviews, reviews, and even memes. Everyone has something valuable to share.
